A security guard tailed me on my walk home tonight. He demanded if I lived there because “you look suspicious.” I showed my keys & buzzed myself into my building. He left, no apology. This is the reality of black girls: One day you’re called an icon, the next day, a threat. https://twitter.com/TheAmandaGorman/status/1361029304268648450

Wow, a fantastic @washingtonpost piece by @nnekamcguire . We live in a contradictory society that can celebrate a black girl poet & also pepper spray a 9 yr old. Yes see me, but also see all other black girls who've been made invisible. I can not, will not, rise alone. https://twitter.com/nnekamcguire/status/1358859779112923142

You are who you think you are. Your #thoughts determine your #attitude and how you act. The Latin writer Publilius Syrus : “A wise person will be master of their mind, a fool will be its slave”. Every day I battle to win control of my mind so that I am happier. #FridayMotivation

In a complex world of advanced technologies #education providers try to focus on developing human #talent which is creative, innovative, flexible. High stake tests or prescribed #curricula do not exploit the full spectrum or talents so necessary for our global #economy #teacher

Legacy-based business models are unlikely to suffice post Covid as current systemic work patterns will endure. Innovation is key for business continuity. Agility, adaptability and resilience have become the hallmarks of success. And it is creative talent which drives this change.

Some #advice for young people. Don’t let your circumstances define who you are or what you do. Work out what you stand for. When you discover your own #internal #power you create your own best reality. Be #positive, persistent, patient.True #success comes from within not outside.
